Here's the honest read on Bondi: nearly every cafe strip from North Bondi to the Junction will happily seat your dog outside, but almost nobody lets pups indoors. Only a couple of venues are a genuine inside yes. The good news is that Bondi does outside-only better than anywhere: sidewalk tables with water bowls, beer gardens, a clifftop beer garden at the golfie, and a cafe with its own dog menu.

Where your pup's allowed inside
The Nelson in Bondi Junction lets dogs inside the Public Bar until 9:30pm, with the house rule that a barking pup gets asked to step outside. The Beekeeper on Bondi Beach is the other genuine yes: dogs are part of the venue's whole relaxed vibe, and water bowls are on hand.
Outside only, but done properly
Doglateria is the standout: the outdoor area is set up for dogs to hang out and roam, and there's a dog menu. Cortado sits right next door to a dog wash, which makes it the handy post-beach stop.
For a session, The Royal and the Beach Road Hotel both welcome pups in the beer garden, and Bondi Golf & Diggers Club adds a clifftop setting to the deal. At the Bondi Bowlo, dogs are welcome outdoors on a lead. Keep them off the greens, and note the outdoor areas close at 9pm.
Make a day of it
Coffee first at Speedos on the North Bondi beachfront (the shady sidewalk tables out front are the spot) or Porch and Parlour with the pup leashed at a sidewalk table.
